Wellbeing Learning - Year 7

Mandatory: Yes

Duration: Full year

Description

In Year 7 Wellbeing at Millicent High School, students explore a range of topics aimed at supporting their emotional development and self-awareness. They begin by building an understanding of emotions, learning to identify and express how they feel in different situations. Through the Zones of Regulation, students develop strategies to manage their emotions and behaviours effectively. They also examine the concept of comfort zones, encouraging personal growth by stepping outside of familiar routines in a safe and supportive environment. Additionally, students learn to assess challenges using the 'Size of the Problem' framework, helping them respond appropriately to various situations and build resilience. As part of their learning, students undertake a project focused on the disposition of Gratitude, fostering a positive mindset and appreciation for others. The year concludes with a focus on cyber safety and supporting students with a smooth and confident transition into Year 8.
